Biography
Judi Lynne, a native of Shepherdstown, West Virginia, is the youngest of three children. She attended both Shepherd University and West Virginia University and received three advanced degrees in English, library science, and communications. She is married and still lives in her hometown. Judi has always been a writer. She began writing at the age of twelve. She still possesses her first children’s book that she wrote in hope that she can get it published. You can check out this first story in the Articles section of this website. She continued writing through high school and college, but it was not until she was a secondary honors English teacher when a class challenged her to write a novel did she begin thinking of writing as a career. But her class was only part of her motivation. Watching her mother read constantly, Judi believed reading was a routine part of life. As a memorial to her mother and through her class’ urgings, she took up pen and paper and began the long process of becoming a published author. She had had poetry and short stories published before in the Sans Merci, a Shepherd University literary publication, but the novel became a lengthy endeavor. Several manuscripts and rejections later, her contemporary romantic-suspense, Hold On to My Heart, was publishing in July 2002. Midwest Book Review says of Ms. Lynne’s novel, “Highly recommended reading, Hold On to My Heart is an enthralling, romantic, and adventurous story.” Romantic Times Magazine stated, “Lynne’s romance debut is full of mystery, emotions and down-to-earth characters.” She is currently working on an historical romantic trilogy on the Rothirforde family. The first part of the trilogy, Aidan’s Chance, was a finalist for the RWA Connecticut Oak Leaf Award of Excellence. Aidan’s Chance was released on February 28, 2007 by Vintage Romance, LLC as a part of their Vintage Heat series. You can read the first chapter of Aidan’s Chance here. Judi has been a member of RWA since 2001 and joined the Washington Romance Writers the following year. She served as newsletter editor for two and a half years until June of 2006. She is a founding member of Celtic Hearts Romance Writers.
