October Newsletter

The seasons once again change, and I am as busy as ever.  In July, I held a book signing at the Hagerstown Mall at Waldenbooks.   At the end of September, I attended another one at the Martinsburg Mall hosted by Athens on the Opequon, a local group supporting the arts.   On October 20, I will be signing books at the Fredericktowne Mall on U.S. Rt. 40 in Frederick, Maryland from 2-4 p.m.  I’m also working with the Friends of the Shepherdstown Library to schedule a book talk about an author’s journey to publication.   I shall let you know when that is.

I’m also proud to announce that I am the recipient of the Coffee Time Reviewer Recommend  Award (CTRRA).  This award, selected by our reviewers, recognizes outstanding writing styles in all books types and genres.  The receiving author will be an honored guest on Coffee Time Romance, having their cover featured for one month, complete with a link to the author’s website.  In addition, the winner will receive a banner to display there, recognizing them as the recipient of this prestigious award.  If you would like to read more, check out the website at www.coffeetimeromance.com/CTRRAwards.html

Despite the fact I didn’t have any book signings in August, I did write a 75 page short story and entered it in a contest for time travel sponsored by The Wild Rose Press.   If you wish to read an excerpt, you can visit my website at www.judilynne.com and click on “Articles.”  The excerpt is entitled “Yankee Angel.”   The contest winner will be announced on October 31.  Think good thoughts for me on that day.   I’m hoping that if they don’t choose me, they may offer me a contract for the publication of the short story.

Kylee’s Revenge, the sequel to Aidan’s Chance, has been submitted for consideration to The Wild Rose Press (TWRP).  The editor, Pam, is to let me know something by October 25.  It looks like October is going to be another busy month.

Currently, I’m working on the third book in the trilogy.  I hope to finish it by the first part of November and submit it also to TWRP.  Then, those people who enjoyed the first book in the trilogy will not have as much time in between before reading the next book in the selection.

I have decided to rewrite my first novel, Hold On to My Heart, and resubmit to another publisher.  It has been out of print for over two years, and I think with the right publisher, it will again sell quite well.  It strays away from the historicals I love to write.  It is a contemporary romantic suspense.

If you haven’t looked around at my website lately, take a peek at the recipes section.  I added a terrific recipe for zucchini bread.  It is the best recipe I have ever developed.  I modified it for the weight conscious or diabetic person.

Soon I will be starting another contest.  The “cookie contest” from last November/December was a huge hit.  I still have cookie recipes on my website.  Check my website often for the next contest beginning at the beginning of November.

 Until later….

 Take care,

 Judi
